The History of Muslim Women in Britain
Muslim women have engaged in paid labor in Britain too over time. There's some evidence of Muslim women entering the paid labor market in Britain as Ayers or nannies from the early 18th century. And then later we see a kind of opening up and a diversification of places that people would come from to seek economic opportunities, but also perhaps study and create a better life in Britain. I think what's really important to emphasize is that the story of British Muslims in work in the late 20th century and early 21st century follows the stretchy of women in work generally.
