It doesn't mean they have to get the surgery, but they've got an idea of if this still continues to not improve,. What other options are there? Sometimes it can be reassuring to be told that they're not a candidate for surgery and focus on rehabilitation efforts. And one of my favorites is just activating the abductor hallucis, which is just a muscle in the arch of the foot that when contracted, the big toe moves out away from second.
