i think we shouldn't be dismissed if that were something that surprised me. The fact that no one's doing it in the world at the moment isn't a reason not to take it seriously, absolutely. An attacker will always try and go after the the weakest part of te system. So for example, i can tell you you absolutely should not use the m d five hash cause it's terribly badly broken. That's really, really tough to do and see parallels. I coun say, with some of these machine learning threats as well, i think it's important that those who are developing them understand enough of what they need to know to day in order to defend their systems well.
