The Church in the Heart of the City
As a young man growing up in philadelphia, there was almost kind of a separate homicide count for gang related violence. The really catalyzing event was the disruption of a funeral at morning star batist church. We got to figure out how to meld efforts, collaborate more fully and think more strategically about what the needs are. I think reverend jeff brown said it so beautifully, either the message will take it, or the streets will bring its message to the church.
