Mortal Kombat 2: A Consumer Multimedia Empire

For a long time, fighting games were just Street Fighter clones. John Tobias and Ed Boone wanted to give you more insight into the characters. They weren't really thinking about this at the time of Mortal Kombat 2. The players sort of make up their own lore in that game.
