The Importance of Inconsistency

People tend to seek out information that supports their previous beliefs. Even analysts who believe they're being objective tend to do that. Bias is directional, right? Error can be just random. So inconsistencies, a big part of expert judgment, are highly inconsistent. We've actually measured inconsistency for things like people who assess cybersecurity risk.
