The Ghost in Hamlet, King, Father, and Royal Dane
Hamlet disapproves of drunken revelry because it makes the Danish look like drunkards to other nations. The ghost shares that he is Hamlet's father's spirit, and Hamlet is to avenge the ghost for Hamlet's dad's most foul and unnatural murder. While Hamlet's mother Gertrude did marry his murderer, Hamlets is to leave her out of it and allow Gertrudes to go to heaven. Then the ghost says goodbye and exits.
