Company agents would convince policy holders that their current coverage would be discontinued at age 65, even when it was guaranteed for life. Another tactic involved offering low-cost policies at rates that quickly shot up. In 2000, a Florida court had to order them to stop collecting premiums on an old burial policy because, you know, race-based pricing is disgusting.
