How to Tell a Patient to Stop Running

An MRI scan revealed moderate arthritis and cartridge damage in the knee. The consultant has advised non-operative care and if it worsens a partial knee replacement. So they've then gone on social media to ask any suggestions which don't involve stopping running. We really know situations don't want to be telling people to stop. That's not unsafe for them to do so. They're not unable to run. It doesn't follow their criteria. Really important on an individual basis is not about the diagnosis. It's about the individual, their goals, their risk factors and the impact that not running will have.
