Cyrus's Conquest of Sardis

Cyrus was a young Persian king who conquered the city of Sardis in Asia Minor. He then went on to take control of other Greek-speaking cities, including Halakan and Babylon. But as he made his way down the Euphrates River, Cyrus thought there were even greater treasures further south. The jewel in the crown? That would have been Babylon itself.
