Aristotle can't be ignored or rejected because of his eminent authority. But neither can he simply be assimilated into the Christian worldview. Thomas Aquinas takes up the task of solving this problem. He's going to be a pivotal figure precisely for that reason. There is a tremendous attraction to the power, the new explanatory power provided by Aristotle.
