Being sincere means you actually, if you honestly don't believe it and you're lying. What happened to Russians under the Soviet Union? Pasternak had something where he said, if you have to lie daily and say things that you know are not true, he says he plays havoc with your mental wellbeing as well. So this idea of these horrible regimes from Hitler to Stalin to Paul Pot to all of them talk about physical suffering. This is real physical suffering. And so this idea of pie in the sky utopia, well, it doesn't exist. Not as long as we humans who are still running human OS.

Dr Michael Donnino is the founder/director of the Psychophysiologic Research Group, and the first person in the country to complete a residency/fellowship program leading to board certification in internal medicine, emergency medicine, and critical care.
