Do You Really Want to Work for Open Source Projects?
I think the traditional rout to an open source job is that you find a project that you care about, you contribute to it, and then you get hired because you're such an important contributor. I also think there's a lot of good in having a good gethub history of showing you contributing to open source projects. But i would say that you might want to think carefully about which projects you get associated with in your free time,. Do you really want to work for them full time, forty hours a week or something? Because it's very easy to slip from this is my personal passion project and something i really, really care about... And that's a sure fire way to really fall out
