The Government's Response to Pro-Development Decisions

We've got a major problem in relation to the amount of housing we have in Australia. It's an example of regulation strangling our society. As premier, I was secure in my own reputation as an ethical politician who wouldn't make judgments that conferred favoritism on any developers. The government's response to that is to over regulate. And everyone's terrified of making a pro-development decision. We just need to get those new apartment blocks approved. That means taking brave decisions. Putting all these people in relatively small apartments, and it's a necessity, it must happen. If it doesn't happen, you're going to have a rent and housing availability crisis"
