The Importance of Due Diligence
I love cash for doing the right thing generally, but whenever the tax man is involved it comes with strings attached. My fear is a little bit like how carbon credits have been abused. Some of the most best scoring ESG businesses are the largest polluters in the world. And so electric car manufacturers are less ESG compliant because they're not trying to play that game. They're just producing something that has a different impact from the world. I worry about creating a financial game here that will be played,. That's a second order consequence. If the first order consequences, we get a lot more community projects doing things with clean tech.
