The New Normal World of the Resolution

The new normal world represents the protagonist's relationship with his surroundings. It can be a positive or negative thing, such as when dorothy gale awakens from her dream in wizard of oz. In other stories it is used to contrast change against its rigidly unchanging nature. For example, mulan returns to her village at the end of the story but the status quo has changed because she has protected the kingdom.
