Mental Isolation Units in Okinawa
Kuri Halla, who runs a group of parents of people who are reclusive, remembers isolation units being used in people's homes. "I later heard that his older brother had gone insane and had been put in a throne room in the back of the house and was screaming," she says. By preserving this hut, we hope that outsiders will get a good understanding of the power that was wielded over mentally challenged people and others,' Kuri adds.
