The Monk and the Outlaws of Nottingham
Two outlaws posed as a monk and his page in order to travel with him. They pretended that they had just been robbed by robin hood, who was locked up back in nottingham. Their ruse worked perfectly, and the king was in no way suspicious of these two men. Upon reading them, the king commanded that little john and much return to nottingham,. this time as royal messengers, with the king's seal. With the sheriff passed out drunk and the jailer dead, it was morning before anyone realized they were gone.
