I Get the Idea, I Understand.

When we say, i get it, it means, yes, i understand. So somebody says, do you get it? And so you respond, yes, I understanding. It could be some that's quite informal such as with the kids. You're trying to explain to the kids why important for them to obey your house rules. That's the sort of response that you're likely to get from the kids. If you hear that from someone speaking english, or some of the kids,i get it. It means, ye, i understand - which is a very irish expression. Ye can also mean 'fair enough' and has been used by politicians too.
