The Importance of a Plebiscite in the Kashmir Problem
Abdullah's thinking the way it was evolving was that the Kashmir problem can only be solved if there is some agreement between Indian Pakistan. He did not want a straightforward partition of the state on religious lines so what is the way out at the same time his own people have their wishes you know he had to try and let many different things happen. The government of India took a view that the Valal al-Rupasli that Abdullah was sort of moving towards independence and that the best way to sort of then solve the problem would be to lock him up remove him as chief minister of the state imprison him arbitrarily.
