Psychologists agree that cultures differ in how they celebrate things like reticence over outspokenness. The USA is held up as the archetypically extraversion valuing society where it pays to stand out from the crowd. Japan and China, with more emphasis on social harmony and community, tend to be more introvert friendly. But can your culture also affect how likely you are to be an introvert in the first place? How much is it a fundamental part of you? And how much is it down to your environment?
