Many professing christians are essentially functioning universal because they're, they're a theyr ideology. Functional universalism is moralism if you want to narrow that down. A moralist doesn't need a saviour, because the moralist is his or her own saviour. I'm saved by my morality. I'm saving by my own good intentions. It's internal to me.
