There are some really interesting projects that have come out both from the c s space, also from the data journalism space or open data movement more generally. Heather kraus has this simplified approach called the data biography which just involves adding, you ask meg like, who a, when, where, why? How about your data set in the way that journalists know how to serv ground truth, other sorts of evidence that they have.
