How to Deal With Physical and Emotional Abuse
My ex-partner started off lovely. A month after we started dating, he physically assaulted his ex-wife in front of me. I justified it because she was smoking meth with their two-year-old daughter on her lap. Around this time, he ramped up the physical abuse. He broke my jaw, broke four ribs, broke my nose twice, gave me so many black eyes it wasn't funny. Then I got really sick and was diagnosed with a serious autoimmune disorder. That is one of the most heartbreaking images I think I've read."
