The Importance of Epigenetics
epigenetics to me feels like a concept like quantum physics that gets talked about in ways that undermine the science constantly and is very confusing. So could you just give us an overview and take away some of the things that epigenetics isn't and tell us what it is? Okay so epigenetics, one of the thing that's really difficult with epigenetics is if you could ask six different epigenetics scientists to define epithetism you will get at least seven different descriptions. The way I would describe it is that you have a set of chemical modifications to DNA and the proteins that are associated with DNA and those modifications can change gene expression. They can be passed on when a cell divides
