Queensland has taken lessons from the wind industry to pay its neighbors. The state is paying an average of around $300,000 a kilometer for land holders plus some generous payments for near neighbors. There's still a number of people who think that you can have 100% renewables without any new transmission. And but getting social license from those people that are directly impacted from it is important.
