What Kind of Compromise Is Possible With the European Union?

We are constantly trying to find clever compromises and ways of dealing with the European Union without accepting the full principles that lie behind it. And often we don't succeed because they're not accepted. You mentioned the hard aque there. I think our separation from Europe on those matters was unnecessary even in the Brexit context. We would be much better to develop a close relationship again in Europe with those sort of matters. Exactly as the Bush speech said, there are things we can do better together than we can do separately.
