The Future of Astronomy

There's so much information impacting the earth that we are just not gathering. So i wonder, what would you do if you were given a billion dollars and an unlimited budget? It would be your sort of fantasy detector or observatory to accomplish this task. We've thought about that. And because we can't promise results,  i would put that big chunk of money in an endowment for multi generational exploration. That would be my approach to it.
