Flow Control Is Fundamental to Distributed Systems

Most of the time it's a distributed system. We're talking to other things. As soon as yo've got one computer on the network talking to another, you get into this discussion of back pressure and client managed flow control. And so reactive programming is both a way of describing asynquinous streams of data and a way of grappling with the realities of distribution.
