Fezzie's Caesar and Pompey

Pompey abandoned Rome very soon after Caesar crossed the Rubicon. What exactly he was thinking is hard to say, and many other writers have offered conflicting versions of both facts and motivations. More likely this was swamped by pride, there are fusal accountants any humiliation, combined with overweening ambition. If he had given up his forces, Caesar would at least enter Rome on equal terms.
