The Beastie Boys and the High High

In the 80s late 80s they were constructing full songs from dozens of samples and this is before you had to pay permission rights. The court case against the beastie boys was Newton versus diamond ouch. Nowadays partially because I think they're not as good and creative and partially because you have to pay rights.
