The Kingdom of God Has Come Upon You

The Trinity hymnal says Christ has bruised the serpent's head. John Brown, a 19th century Scottish Presbyterian, analyzes this passage in his book The banner of truth: saints and discourses of our Lord. I think it's like impossible not to hear echoes of Genesis 3, 15 here in this second pronouncement. Now the ruler of this world will be cast out; he was saying this to indicate the kind of death by which he was to die.
