The Impact of Climate Change on the Electricity Grid
The heat has a double or triple whammy when it comes to the electricity grid. This kind of extreme heat is particularly taxing on an electricity grid. The hotter it is outside, the less efficient power plants are and the less power they're able to make. And the heat is essentially what drives air conditioning use and so it increases electricity use.
