Part One: The (Male) Doctor Who Redesigned Vaginas
Behind the Bastards
Kinsey's Sex Research
In 1948, soon after beginning the Institute for Sex Research, Kinsey published one of the most influential pieces of literature in American sex history. The books contained controversial information for the time as they detailed topics such as homosexuality, premarital sex, and even bestiality. When Kinsey's study went viral, James Burt was working for the US Air Force Medical Corps; he joined to avoid getting drafted. He did a residency next at a hospital in Chicago and eventually wound up performing his residency at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City. This is a very anti-Ohio podcast. I think we're open about that.
