Rape survivors are being continually and systematical let down by the criminal justice system. That's according to a recent report, which revealed a lack of collaboration between police and prosecutors. One startling statistic to emerge was the average of 706 days which elapsed from the date of reporting an offence to the start of a trial. Some survivors reported that enduring the legal process was worse than suffering the offence. Only one point six % of rape, or attempted rapes in england and wales leads to a prosecution.
