Early Roman Empire Writers Rely on a Variety of Sources
It's not a usual practice for Roman and Greek historians at this time to necessarily cite their sources explicitly the whole way through. So there are earlier analysts who unfortunately we have very little of. Some of them were writing actually not that much before Livy and Dionysius were writing. They did have those sources to use, but they were probably also relying on things like the fasty or lists of consoles.
