Cognitive Empathy and Emotional Empathy Are Related
I think cognitive empathy and emotional empathy are different. If it wasn't different, if it weren't different, my argument wouldn't fly at all. But they're plainly related. They're neurologically related in everyday life. And they're related is an ordered field emotional empathy. Properly, you have to be able to have cognitive empathy. You have to know what a person's mental status before you experience it yourself. When there's people who you're close to, you want to apply both sorts of empathy at once. It's not hard to see how they're separate.
