Is Social Media Bringing Us Back to Normality?

When you're interacting with someone who disagrees with you online, there are none of the human buffers that exist to make us sort of nod our head and try to find common ground. There is definitely an argument to be made that the internet is in some sense returning us to a more sort of typical norms and typical nature. The idea that Facebook directly contributed to the election of Donald Trump is ridiculous. It was a huge deal in that it fundamentally changed perceptions of Facebook.
