The Origins of Islamic Psychology

There tends to be some confusion and lack of clarity on people understanding or agreeing on what we're referring to when we say Islamic psychology. But I think where that stems from, ironically, perhaps is more in the word psychology than it is in the word Islamic. And so what we're looking at is much more than just mental processes and behavior. We have had in the Islamic tradition, illmaness, which is essentially the Arabic for the same term, study of the soul.
