Wow! So many times we operate from the perspective that we only have to ask God once and it should be done.

But in the New Testament, this verse specifically uses the Greek present imperatives (i.e., asking, seeking, knocking) to emphasize persistent, constant prayer.

So why do we give up on the first try?

Why not keep praying persistently and consistently?

16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

Yet you and I pause on our own timelines. If God doesn't do what we want when we want it, why keep trying. He gave up, so should we.

But you see, the door shall be opened.

The K.I.S.S. ~ The door shall be opened!

And not necessarily exactly how you see it.

God has perfect timing on His watch, not your Apple or Fitbit watch.

"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens." (Ecclesiastes 3:1)

Why are you not asking, seeking, and knocking?

You sitting on the couch feeling sorry for yourself is getting you nowhere.

Now, if you like snuggling up with that, continue what you're doing if that's where you want to stay.

Otherwise, I can tell you — ask, seek, and knock. The best is yet to come.
