How to Create a Movie Monster
A lot of horror movies are based on these unknown or mythical entities, right? Yeah, monsters, aliens, ghosts, but we hear them. How do you create sounds that make something that's not real believable to the audience? So for instance, when the really interesting TV shows I've worked on is Monster Land, there is a monster of sorts that is tied into classic American horror mythology in the show. Mermaids, fallen angels, and other strange beasts push broken people to commit despicable acts. And so we're not just creating a movie monster, but we're also trying to psychologically tie it in with characters.
