The History of Redneck and Hillbilly

Redneck and hillbilly redneck are also weirdly, uh, fairly modern terms relative to cracker, um, and relative to white trash. Both of those things didn't really come into the parlance until 1900. And redneck convey a certain social outlook in a way that the others don't like; it conveys extreme conservative views you might associate with those people.
