i believe there's a very clear difference between a values conflict and trollish behavior. And they don't have to lead to each other. If the issue is student says something that reflects a political view that's unpopular, then that's where the emphasis on listening matters the most. It's a conversation, so it's not an echo chamber. They still have to listen to everyone else if they want to get a good grate at least.
