i love the metaphor of waxing the surf board. You might not be going out and hitting the waves, but you're getting your stuff as in order and as ready as you can. Even a tiny little thing that barely moves the needle, it still moved your needle on whatever it is that you're working on. Imagine if you allowed yourself to have zero days and the stack of those little things that didn't happen. How dreadful and awful that would be when that event time rolls around.
