Is the Adoption Metaphor Creating Intimacy and Forming Group Identity?

The metaphors create bonds between people who understand them. And, yeah, and with Pauline theology, I think this is even more true because these metaphors are being applied to people themselves. So, I think that creates a sameness of vision for the people in the community. They know that they all think of themselves as way and they know that Paul thinks about them that way.
