The Derivation of Meaning in the Navajo Verb
In Navajo, the root low has a base meaning of act with a rope like object or loop. But when horse drawn vehicles appeared in the culture, they included that to mean drive because you use rains. So weight, weighing things now has to do with this root, which remember back at the beginning, just referred to, you know, working with a loop.
