You can praise children but praise what they did not who they are as people. It is absolutely fine to praise what they've done and say oh i love that you've done but always to focus on that process of learning rather than on this fixed thing about them. You may appear to be weak in a subject when it's actually an area that you could really get a lot from, says Dwex.
