The Mirror Image Is What You Really Look Like

Most of us are not perfectly symmetrical. And so when traditional cameras and old school videos take our image, we see ourselves as looking totally off. The only way is by looking into a mirror, which as we know is a reflection. So you see the opposite of what everyone else sees. Until you train your brain to seeing your real face more, it will not be familiar and it will feel off. Some smart systems like Zoom actually let you choose if you want to be looking at and recording your real face or your mirror image. Be your own hype man or woman to help your brain get familiar with the concept.
