In 2004 Bush doesn't renew the assault weapons ban. 2005 Bush signs Placa, which is the Protection and Lawful Commerce and Arms Act. In 2007 Barack Obama in 2007 starts to lead in the polls. The NRA says, okay, let's go racism, conspiracy, hatred, fear. Let's use it to gin up voters. We went from 8 million guns sold in 2007 to 25 million guns a year sold by the time Donald Trump left office.
