The Dangers of Metaphors in Our Lives

Historically the Royal Society 17th century tried to build a language without metaphors that project failed but nowadays it's considered the metaphors are a major tool for scientists. If you're mindful of what metaphor you're using which can take actually some introspection if you are mindful it's very powerful but they can be misleading if we understand them so I think it's a really important point because I don't recall having these kinds of explicit conversations either with colleagues or students about the use of metaphors.
